El tzatziki o salsiki es una salsa a base yogur y pepino muy sencilla y refrescante. Es de origen griego y se sirve a modo de picoteo. Es perfecto para comerlo con mi pan de pita o unas sencillas tostadas de un buen pan de pueblo. Tradicionalmente se sirve como entrante en los meze o banquetes griegos. Este tipo de entrantes también recibe el nombre de mezeler.
Hacer un buen tzatziki no es nada complicado, pero hay que tener en cuenta un par de trucos muy sencillos para obtener el resultado esperado. Si seguís esta receta al pie de la letra vuestra salsa de yogur y pepino será un éxito total. Muy atentos sobre todo al truquillo del pepino, porque quizás es una de las partes fundamentales para tener un buen tzatziki o salsiki.
Ingredientes del tzatziki para 4 personas
- 125g de yogur griego
- 1 cucharada sopera de vinagre de vino blanco
- 3 cucharadas soperas de aceite de oliva virgen extra
- 1 diente de ajo
- sal al gusto
- 1 pepino
- 1 cucharadita de eneldo
Tzatziki elaboración
- Para comenzar con la receta del tzatziki lavamos bien el pepino y lo rallamos con la piel. Después depositamos la pulpa del pepino sobre un colador y le añadimos un poco de sal para que sude. Lo dejamos durante más o menos 30 minutos para que escurra todo el líquido que sea posible. Después apretamos la pulpa entre los dedos para terminar de extraer todo el jugo que sea posible.
- Ahora vamos a prensar el ajo pelados o a rallarlos. A continuación pondremos en un bol los yogures, el ajo prensado, la pulpa de pepino, el vinagre, el aceite y sal al gusto. Removemos hasta conseguir integrar completamente todos los ingredientes y obtener un tzatziki espeso. Finalmente añadimos el eneldo y nuevamente removemos hasta integrarlo.
- Una vez que tengamos nuestra salsa de pepino y yogur terminada la vamos a reservar durante al menos 30 minutos en la nevera para que adquiera un poco mas de cuerpo. Transcurrido este tiempo sacamos la salsa de frigo y ya podemos servir nuestro tzatziki.
